This includes complex insurance issues, in particular Underinsured Motorist Protection, out-of-province motor vehicle insurers, and interpretation of legislation. His work has set precedents both in the British Columbia Supreme Court and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. He also handles cases involving insurance claims, estate litigation, and miscellaneous matters depending on a client’s needs.
Mr. Joudrey received his law degree in 1995 and has had numerous successes since being called to the bar in British Columbia in 1996. He has had significant trial experience and success in the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court (including jury trials), and in the Court of Appeal. He has also had many successful results for clients through alternative dispute resolution including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Mr. Joudrey’s profile has led to recognition from the Canadian Defence Lawyers who have asked him to be a speaker at their annual conference, The Best Defence, on two occasions. The first was in February 2008 on deductions to damage awards, on diminished earning capacity, and on cost of future care. He was also a speaker at The Best Defence on September 16, 2009 on the topic of the admissibility of expert opinions.
